Service Areas helps restaurants and cafés manage tables, rooms, seats, and customer orders in SalesPlay POS.
You can create tables, assign orders, add products, move or merge tables, split orders, assign staff, print pre-bills, share order details, and complete payments.
Example
At ABC Restaurant, customers sit at Table 2 and order:
- Rice
- Noodles
- Coca-Cola
The order can remain open while they are dining. If they order more products later, you can add them to the same order.
Enable Service Areas
Before using Service Areas, enable the feature from the Back Office.
- Log in to the SalesPlay Back Office Web Portal.
- Select Settings.
- Select Feature.
- Turn on Service Areas.
- Click Save.
For restaurant table orders, also enable Open Orders:
- Select Settings.
- Select Feature.
- Turn on Open Orders.
- Click Save.
Create Tables or Rooms
- Log in to the SalesPlay Back Office.
- Select Settings.
- Select Service Areas.
- Click Add Service Area.
- Enter a name, such as Table 1.
- Select a section or choose N/A.
- Click Save.
You can create tables, rooms, seats, or other service areas.

Choose a Service Area Layout
SalesPlay provides two layout options:
Standard Layout
Use this layout to manage tables and rooms as a simple list.
Graphical Layout
Use this layout to arrange tables visually according to your restaurant’s floor plan.
Change the Table Order
You can change the order in which tables appear in the POS.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Service Areas.
- Click the three-dot menu.
- Select Change Order.
- Drag and drop the tables into the required order.
- Save the changes.
Check Table Status
Service Areas use different colors to show table status.

Add a Table to an Order
For example, four customers sit at Table 2.
- Open the SalesPlay POS App.
- Select New Sale.
- Click the Table / Service Area icon.
- Select Table 2.
- Enter 4 PAX.
- Click OK.
- Add the customer’s products.
- Click Save.
The order is now linked to Table 2.
Add More Products to an Existing Order
Customers can order additional products while they are dining.
From Open Orders
- Open Open Orders.
- Select the required table.
- Click Edit.
- Add the new products.
- Click Update.
- Click Save.
From Service Areas
- Select New Sale.
- Click the Table / Service Area icon.
- Select the required table.
- Click Edit.
- Click Update.
- Add the new products.
- Click Update.
- Click Save.
Example
Table 2 originally ordered Rice, Noodles, and Coca-Cola.
Later, the customers order another Noodles and Coca-Cola.
Simply open the existing order and add the new products.
Assign Staff and Move a Table
You can assign an order to another staff member and move it to another table when customers change tables.
Assign Another Staff Member
- Open the Table / Service Area screen.
- Select the required table.
- Open the three-dot menu.
- Select Assign Other Staff.
- Select the staff member.
- Click the + button.
Move an Order to Another Table
For example, customers move from Table 2 to the larger Table 5.
- Open Open Orders.
- Select the table/order.
- Click Merge.
- Select Move.
- Select the new table.
- Confirm the change.
The order will now be assigned to the new table.
Merge Tables
Use Merge when customers at two tables want one combined order.
Example
Customers are using Table 1 and Table 2 and want one final receipt.
- Open Open Orders.
- Select both table orders.
- Click Merge.
- Select an existing table or a new table.
- Click Move.
- Confirm the change.
The orders will be combined into one order.
Split an Order
Use Split when customers at the same table want to pay separately.
Example
Four customers at Table 2 want to divide their products between them.
- Open Open Orders.
- Select the required order.
- Click Split.
- Click the + button.
- Create the required number of customers.
- Select the products for each customer.
- Click Move Here.
- Click Save.
You can then process the separate payments.
Print a Pre-Bill
You can print a pre-bill before the customer makes the final payment.
From Open Orders
- Open Open Orders.
- Select the required order.
- Click the Print icon.
- Print the pre-bill.
From Service Areas
- Open New Sale.
- Click the Table / Service Area icon.
- Select the required table.
- Click the Print icon.
- Print the pre-bill.
Share Order Details
You can share open order details as Text, PDF, or Link.
- Open Open Orders.
- Select the required order.
- Click View.
- Click Share.
- Select Text, PDF, or Link.
- Click OK.
- Select an available application, such as email or WhatsApp.
You can also share the order from the Table / Service Area screen.
Complete an Open Order
When the customer is ready to pay:
- Open Open Orders.
- Select the required table.
- Click Edit.
- Click Charge.
- Select the payment method.
- Complete the payment.
You can also complete the payment from the Table / Service Area screen.
Once the payment is completed, the order is finalized and the table becomes available.
Set Table Layout as the Default View
If your restaurant mainly uses table orders, you can make the Table Layout the default POS screen.
- Open New Sale.
- Click the Table / Service Area icon.
- Click the three-dot menu.
- Turn on Default View.
The Table Layout will then be displayed as the default sales view.
Quick Restaurant Workflow
A typical restaurant workflow is:
Create Tables → Select Table → Enter PAX → Add Products → Save Order → Add More Products → Assign Staff or Move Table → Merge or Split if Needed → Print Pre-Bill → Charge → Complete Payment
