Smile Cash Integration with SalesPlay POS

Smile Cash is a digital wallet and financial service provided by ZB Financial Holdings in Zimbabwe. By integrating Smile Cash with SalesPlay POS, merchants can securely accept Smile Cash payments directly from the POS, providing customers with a fast and convenient cashless payment experience.

Before You Begin

Before configuring the integration, ensure you have:

  • A SalesPlay account
  • An active Smile Cash merchant account
  • Smile Cash API credentials (API Key and API Secret)

Step 1: Configure Smile Cash in SalesPlay Back Office

  1. Log in to the SalesPlay Back Office.
  2. Navigate to Settings → Features.
  3. Locate Payment Gateways.
  4. Enable the feature and click Save.

Note: Once enabled, a new Payment Gateways menu will appear under Settings.

  1. Go to Settings → Payment Gateways.
  2. Click Add Payment Gateway.
  3. Select Smile Cash Payments.
  4. Enter the required information:
    • Device Name
    • API Key
    • API Secret
    • Currency
    • Target Terminal
  5. Turn the Status to ON.
  6. Click Save.

Your Smile Cash payment gateway is now configured.

Step 2: Assign Smile Cash to a Payment Type

  1. Go to Settings → Payment Types.
  2. Open an existing payment type (for example, Card) or create a new payment type.
  3. Enable Payment Gateway.
  4. Select Smile Cash from the Payment Gateway drop-down list.
  5. Click Update.

The payment type is now linked to Smile Cash.

Step 3: Enable Smile Cash on SalesPlay POS

  1. Open the SalesPlay POS application.
  2. Sign in using your POS account.
  3. Navigate to Settings → Payment Gateway.
  4. Enable Smile Cash.
  5. SalesPlay POS will automatically synchronize the payment gateway configuration from the Back Office.

Your POS is now ready to accept Smile Cash payments.

Step 4: Process a Smile Cash Payment

To verify the integration:

  1. Create a new sale in SalesPlay POS.
  2. Tap Charge.
  3. Select the payment type linked to Smile Cash.
  4. Enter the customer’s registered Smile Cash mobile number.
  5. Tap OK.
  6. A payment request will be sent to the customer’s Smile Cash account.
  7. Ask the customer to authorize the payment on their mobile device.
  8. Once approved, the payment will be completed automatically.
  9. Print or send the receipt to the customer.

Troubleshooting

If Smile Cash payments are not working, verify the following:

  • The Payment Gateways feature is enabled in the Back Office.
  • The API Key and API Secret are entered correctly.
  • The payment gateway Status is set to ON.
  • The payment type is linked to Smile Cash.
  • The POS has synchronized the latest payment gateway configuration.
  • The customer entered the correct Smile Cash registered mobile number.
  • The merchant terminal has an active internet connection.
  • The configured target terminal is active.

If the issue persists, please contact your SalesPlay Administrator or the SalesPlay Support Team.
