The Disassembly function allows users to break down a finished product or item into its individual components or ingredients.
Why Disassembly is Important
- Maintains accurate records of the quantity and type of components available in inventory.
- Prevents stock discrepancies by correctly accounting for each component.
Practical Example
In a restaurant POS system, consider a burger consisting of a bun, patty, tomato, and sauce:
- When burgers are prepared, the POS system deducts ingredients automatically from inventory.
- If some burgers are left at the end of the day, the Disassembly function allows staff to reverse the process, returning the ingredients back to inventory.
Disassembly Function Steps
- Log in to Back Office Webportal.
- Select Inventory from the main menu.
- Go to the Productions section.
- Click the arrow button near Add Production.
- Click Add Disassembly button.
- Select the product from the dropdown menu.
- Enter the disassembly quantity > click the + button.
- Click the Save button.
In essence, the Disassembly function is the reverse of the Production function, allowing you to manage inventory accurately by breaking down finished products into their components.
