Modifiers let you give customers more ways to customize their orders. They are commonly used for toppings, sauces, fillings, add-ons, ingredients, and extras.
For example, a pizza can have Cheese options such as Cheddar, Mozzarella, or Gouda. A coffee can have Milk, Syrup, or Whipped Cream options.
Modifiers can help restaurants, cafés, bakeries, quick-service restaurants, and other businesses create flexible products without creating a separate product for every variation.
Tip: Modifiers must be created in the Back Office before they can be used in the POS.

- In the POS App, select the product in the cart.
- Tap the modifiers listed (e.g., Cheese, Lettuce).
- Use the “+” or “-” buttons to adjust quantity.

Modifier Group Rules
Modifier Group Rules control how customers can select modifiers within a group.
Turn on Modifier Group Rules to configure selection, quantity, and visibility settings for the group.
When the rules are turned off, the group uses the standard modifier behavior.
Availability: These advanced modifier rules are currently available for Web Store and QR Ordering. POS App support is planned for a future release.
Visibility Rules for a Modifier Group
Visibility settings control where the modifier group is displayed.
Show on Printed Receipts
Turn this option off if you do not want the modifier group and its modifiers to appear on printed customer receipts.
When disabled, the modifier group is hidden from printed customer receipts.
Note: This setting does not affect the Receipt View, KOT, or KDS.
Show on Web Store & QR Ordering
Turn this option off to hide the modifier group and its modifiers from:
- Web Store
- QR Ordering
The modifiers can still remain available in the POS.
Selection Rules
Selection Rules control how many modifiers a customer can choose from a modifier group.
Require a Selection
When enabled, customers must select at least one modifier from the group before they can add the product to the cart.
Example
Create a modifier group called Cheese with:
- Cheddar
- Mozzarella
- Gouda
Turn on Require a Selection and attach the group to the Pizza category.
When ordering a pizza, the customer must select at least one cheese option before continuing.
This is useful when a product always requires a particular choice.
Example:
Choose Your Cheese → Required
Allow Multiple Selections
Enable this option when customers can select more than one modifier from the group.
When disabled, the customer can select only one modifier.
Example
Create a Cheese modifier group containing:
- Cheddar
- Mozzarella
- Gouda
- Parmesan
Enable Allow Multiple Selections.
Set:
- Minimum: 1
- Maximum: 3
Customers can now select between 1 and 3 different cheese varieties.
For example:
- Mozzarella ✓
- Cheddar ✓
- Gouda ✓
But they cannot select four different cheese varieties.
Use this setting when customers can choose multiple different options from the same group.
Modifier Quantity Rules
Selection rules determine how many different modifiers a customer can choose.
Quantity rules determine how many times the same modifier can be added.
These are different settings.
For example:
- Multiple selections: Cheddar + Mozzarella + Gouda
- Multiple quantities: Mozzarella × 3
Allow Multiple Quantities
Enable Allow Multiple Quantities when customers can add more than one quantity of the same modifier.
When this option is enabled, you can define a Minimum Quantity and Maximum Quantity.
Example
Create a Cheese modifier group.
Enable Allow Multiple Quantities and set:
- Minimum Quantity: 1
- Maximum Quantity: 5
A customer can select:
Mozzarella × 1
Mozzarella × 2
Mozzarella × 3
Mozzarella × 4
Mozzarella × 5
They cannot add Mozzarella × 6.
This is useful when customers can request extra portions of the same modifier.
Common Examples
- Extra cheese
- Double lettuce
- Extra sauce
- Additional syrup
- Extra toppings
Modifier Visibility Rules
Each modifier can also have its own visibility settings.
Show on Printed Receipts
Enable this option to show the modifier on the printed customer receipt.
This setting works only when Show on Printed Receipts is enabled for the modifier group.
For example:
Pizza
Mozzarella × 2
Garlic Sauce
If modifier receipt visibility is disabled, that modifier will not appear on the printed customer receipt.
Show on Web Store & QR Ordering
Enable this option to make the modifier available through:
- Web Store
- QR Ordering
Disable it if you want the modifier to remain available in the POS but not be offered through online ordering.
