How to Use Shift Management

Shift management

Track cashiers / employee shifts from start to end, including sales performance, cash activities, pay-ins and payouts. Monitor gross and net sales, cash movements, and expected vs. actual cash to identify any shortages or excesses. At the end of each shift, generate a shift report with a complete summary of sales and cash activity.

1. How to Enable Shift Management

  1. Log in to the POS Back Office Web Portal.
  2. Select Settings from the main menu.
  3. Go to the “POS & operations” section and then “Shift operations settings”
  4. Tick ON the “Shift Management” button.

2. Open a Shift in the POS App

Open the POS App and start a new shift to continue using the POS.

3. Enter the Shift Opening Amount

Enter the opening cash amount when prompted to begin the shift.

4. Manage Drawer Transactions

The Drawer Transactions feature in POS helps businesses efficiently manage cash-related activities. It streamlines recording inflows and outflows from the cash drawer or cash box, including expenses, bill payments, and supplier payments, providing better overall financial management.

Go to Main Menu → Manage Sales → Cash Management → Drawer Transactions.

5. Enter Drawer Transaction Details

Provide the following details:

  • Amount
  • Reason

You can select an existing reason or create a new one.

To create a new reason:

  • Click NEW
  • Enter the reason name
  • Click Save

Select PAY IN or PAY OUT and proceed.
Use this option if you need to add extra details about a drawer transaction.

6. Cash Drawer Summary

View a summary of all cash drawer transactions for the current shift.

7. How to End the Shift (Shift End / Z Report)

Close the cashier’s shift at the end of the business period by reviewing sales and cash activities, counting the cash drawer, and reconciling expected vs. actual cash. The Z Report provides the final shift summary, including sales, cash movements, and any shortage or excess.

Within the POS App:

  • Open the POS App main menu
  • Select Manage Sale
  • Click Cash Management
  • Select Shift End
  • Enter the actual cash amount
  • Click Run Shift End

(Optional: Enable Print Report if you need a printed copy of Z Report.)

8. How to Check Shift Reports

When a shift is opened from the POS app, it will automatically appear in the Back Office Web Portal with the shift opening time and the status “Shift Open.”

Closed shifts can be identified by their completed status. Click View to see the shift details, including sales and other shift information.

  1. Log in to the POS Back Office Web Portal
  2. Select Reports from the main menu
  3. Go to Sales category and then Shifts
  4. Click View to see shift details
