Printing Receipts and KOTs from the Same Printer

February 12, 2026 Updated on February 16, 2026

Overview

The “Printing Receipts and KOTs from the Same Printer” option in
SalesPlay POS allows you to configure a single printer to print both
customer receipts and Kitchen Order Tickets (KOTs).

This setup streamlines operations, reduces the need for multiple printers, and simplifies workflows —
especially in restaurants where both customer receipts and kitchen order tickets are required.

By optimizing resources, businesses can improve efficiency while reducing hardware costs.

Key Benefits

  • Streamlined Operations: Communicate directly with kitchen or bar staff, improving coordination.
  • Space & Cost Optimization: Ideal for small businesses looking to reduce printer hardware and save space.
  • Efficient Workflow: Orders are instantly sent to the kitchen, increasing service speed and customer satisfaction.

Back Office Setup

  1. Log in to the SalesPlay POS Back Office.
  2. Navigate to “Settings” from the main menu.
  3. Go to “Addon Apps” and select the “KOT / BOT Groups” tab.
  4. Click “New Group”, provide a group name, and save it.
  5. Select the created group and click “Attach”.
  6. Enable the categories or products to be included in the KOT/BOT Group.
  7. Save your changes.

SalesPlay POS App Configuration

  1. Open the SalesPlay POS App main menu.
  2. Go to “Settings”.
  3. Select “Printers.”
  4. Click “Add” to create a new printer (or edit an existing printer).
  5. Enter the printer name and relevant details.
  6. Enable “Print receipts and bills.”
  7. Enable “Print KOT / BOT.”
  8. Enable the relevant “Printer Groups.”
  9. Click Save.

Note: If you have already configured the printer for normal receipts, edit the existing printer setup. First enable
“Print receipts and bills”, then enable “Print KOT / BOT”,
activate “Printer Groups”, and save your changes.

Troubleshooting – KOT Not Printing

If the printer is configured but KOT is not printing, verify the following:

  • Ensure “Print receipts and bills” is enabled.
  • Confirm “Print KOT / BOT” is enabled.
  • Check that “Printer Groups” is activated.
  • Save all changes after verification.

After reviewing these settings, the KOT should print correctly.

Printing Multiple KOTs on the Same Printer

If you need to print multiple KOTs from the same printer:

  • Create multiple printer setup pages.
  • Enable “Print KOT / BOT.”
  • Disable “Print receipts and bills.”
  • Enable “Printer Groups.”
  • Save your changes.
